Katie's a published author at 15.
Most 15-year-olds come in from school, dump their bags on the floor then plonk themselves on the sofa for some afternoon telly.
But one Twyford schoolgirl followed a different pattern for two months after setting herself the challenge of writing a book.
Sitting at her desk, 15-year-old Katie Thompson came up with a tale of love and fear, which has won an international competition and was published this month.
“It’s about a lady who lives with a man who abuses her and she has to try and escape him,” says Katie, who goes to The Piggott School in Wargrave.
